Hello!
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8

I wrote *Pass the Grace to offer readers a glimpse into my thoughts and experiences. What started as simple real-life allegories evolved into a desire to share information about my journey with Jesus.  Some of the stories are fun. Some are rough. And some, some are brutally honest.

I desire to offer a place for women to begin thinking about how they too can change that thought pattern, that habit, that line of thinking and apply their normal routine, and even those boring everyday moments to their journey with the God who is anything but boring, normal, or routine!

Take some time to explore the blog and see for yourself how your relationship with God can be one of intimacy as you've never experienced before. And all of a sudden, you'll be telling your people the same thing I tell mine; "I've been graced!"

I hope you're graced!

About Me.

HE HAS GRACED MY STORY WITH HIS GLORY, AND I'LL NEVER BE THE SAME.

I'm Jan and I was fearfully and wonderfully made. I have been saved, healed and graced by God through his son Jesus.

I was designed for specific works on this planet and for specific purpose. Born to American parents in Germany, raised in the Southwestern part of America. The youngest of five siblings (and the loudest no doubt).

Raised by a warm, loving Father who had integrity and saw value in all mankind. Raised by a mother who never gave up on her faith and spent countless numbers of Sundays in her 63-year marriage, in a pew all alone. The same wife who led her husband in the sinner's prayer just hours before he died.

I attended a Christian concert at ten-years old where I would raise my hand to meet this Jesus they were talking about. At 11 I would be molested by an influential member of our community,

I was told to stay quiet about it. There was nothing we could do.

That experience and that decision would set the trajectory of my adolescence and young adult life towards death. But, God.

At 30 years old, I became a widow with four children. I also walked away from God in anger about it. Over a decade would go by until I made such a complete mess of my life that I couldn't go on without Him. Then, on May 6, 2004, I, like the prodigal son, came running back to the Father for rescue and sustenance. That was the day I learned the difference between the law and grace.

And now I tell His story of this life He redeemed, healed, and made whole. I tell as many as I can about my imperfections and His perfection. I sing aloud of His faithfulness in my faithlessness.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel because I have been graced!

Jan has a natural gift of speaking, as you listen to her share her story, you are immediately "drawn in" much in the same way as if you were reading a captivating story. She also has a gift of writing parables just as Christ spoke in parables. Jan is a woman of many talents and she chooses to use them all for God's glory.

Thank You Sisters

It must have been relentless, the cry from their hearts to bring mine back to Him. They watched from a distance as I thought I was cleverly hiding my new life of sin in my prodigal world. How their hearts must have rent when evil phraseologies and lies came through my words as if they were gospel.

I suppose they were, gospel, for a time.

My truth, my life, my business. My choices. My stupid, self-serving choices of death on a daily basis. How terrifying for those who loved me and had seen me walk in truth once, in my distant past.

But they never gave up on me and more, they never gave up on God hearing their cry and bringing me home to him where I belonged. And so, they did. Pray. And so, He did. Draw me. And eventually, I heard and I will be forever grateful. Eternally grateful in fact.

To my ‘big’ sisters Patty and Kathy, whose uncompromising love for Jesus shined the light in my life even when I thought I didn’t need it. Thank you for never giving up on me when I was in the darkness.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
