…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ. Phi 1:6 NIV

Tall, lean, with kind eyes and graceful moves, Humble handed the bar to his brother. He loved working here in the shop. The mechanics of it all fascinated him, and he was good at it, although, true to his name, he didn't think about that.
Grateful took the crowbar from his brothers' hand. "Thanks," he said and smiled. There it was again, that twinkle in his eye. Folks around here notice it, love it, actually, that twinkle. Everyone around him instinctively knows it comes from the peace that passes all understanding. Grateful always has it, that peace. And when you hang out with him for even a little while, you find that you have it too!
Giving watched the action as his brothers worked on this '61 model. The way they worked in tandem never ceased to amaze him. Neither brother had the right tool to loosen one particularly stubborn spot at one point in the project. Giving briskly walked across the garage floor and handed Grateful his. The exact tool was in the exact size at the exact moment it was needed, as usual. Grateful smiled and considered Giving’s' perfect timing.
Today's work was part of a long-term strategy to keep this model traveling safely down the right roads. Although there were plenty of miles passed, there were plenty more ahead. It was always a work in progress. Top maintenance is necessary for optimal performance, and that was true, especially for some of these aging models. They seemed to find themselves in the ruts of stubbornness more often.
As the boys began to wrap up this particular job, they all noticed their little sister, Wisdom, toddling into the room. She was very graceful, as always, at her entrance. Her Fathers' love was beaming from her young, beautiful eyes, and it melted her big brothers' hearts every time. As Humble placed the final piece in place and the project was successfully completed, the brothers winked at each other as Wisdom, standing right in front of them, instantly grew at least half a foot in stature and maturity again. Today's work was apparently successful.
Warmed by their work together and the growth of their sister, the boys went to report to their big brother and Father that another moment in this human's life was completed and that this 61 model was ready for the next part of the race.
And all this happened because I was faced with a challenge today. Rattles me right underneath the hood of my emotion, the mechanics of it all!
Pass the Grace,
Jan
Took a minute but cool parable!
Through HIS grace we are always growing and more life flourishes. Nice allegory!
